Single-Family Home & Townhome Overview
Single-family home & townhome rentals are different than apartments because there is a bias third-party involved. The landlord or management company must feel comfortable with taking you on as a tenant. Here are some tips to stand out above the competition.
Have the required documents on hand
In order to apply for a property, most leasing agents require:
- Separate, completed lease applications from anyone over 18 years of age.
- Driver's license or passport from anyone over 18 years of age.
- Recent check stubs and/or bank statements
- Letter of employment/offer letter for Non-U.S citizens.
Terms to consider
When presenting the offer, we will need to know the following details:
- Rental price
- Lease term
- Lease start date
- Any employee clauses required
- Any repairs/cleaning requested
Helpful Tips
- Time is of the essence. A property can receive an application at any time, and the landlord has no obligation to wait on making a decision.
- A good relationship with your landlord/management company is invaluable. It is in both parties best interest to accommodate one another.
